Minutes Ð The minutes from the February 19, 2009 meeting were approved.

Membership Ð Jerry reported there are five new members to Park Lakes: three through the MLC reciprocal agreement and two others.  Pat Kelleher will send welcome letters to new members.

Several members have still not paid their dues and Jesse and Jerry will follow up with them.  A couple of members changed their status from single to inactive.  Current revenue is $52,000 (approximately 80% of dues in) but $68,000 is expected.

Jerry will draft a news release announcing Òopen for new membersÓ and forward it to Jesse.  Sharon Higgins will be asked to distribute it to the membership.

It was agreed that there should be no mass email mailings to the membership except for emails from the board that pertain directly to Park Lakes

A spring letter will be sent to the members.

TreasurerÕs Report Ð In order to ensure transparency and accuracy, Marty is responsible for reviewing with Jesse, the financial records of Park Lakes.  Pat KelleherÕs name is also on the bank account.

-         Currently, there is $42,000 in the checking account.

-         Liability insurance of $3,100 has already been paid for 2009.

-         Propane tanks are approximately 70% full which provides fuel inventory for the next paddle season.

-         Approximately 50% of the clay tennis courts reconditioning costs ($9,000) has been paid.  The same company has been used for the past few years and everyone seems pleased with their work.  We have asked them to condition our courts as soon as possible so that the work will be completed before league play begins in early May.

-         A heater on a paddle court has been replaced at a cost of $500.

-         A much-needed section of the driveway has been repaved at the reasonable rate of $1 per square foot for a total of $1,300.

-         Half of our 2009 taxes have already been paid ($4,800) and the balance is due in June/July.

-         Approximately $3,500 will be spent on upkeep of the decking, path to courts, steps, skirts around courts, and snow flaps.

Grounds Ð Nick noted that Mike Zambri may be willing to oversee the facility and grounds as Nick is away much of the summer.

Pending Business Ð

-         Reminder to membership about dress code (i.e. no ÒJoeÕs BarÓ type t-shirts!)

-         Recognition of special contributors to Park Lakes.  Considerations include naming a court after him/her and/or putting names on a plaque.

Next meeting Ð Scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Park Lakes.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Meg Richards
